A four-wheeled petrol-electric locomotive, it was built for use in France towards the end of the First World War.  It was powered by a 40hp Dorman 4JO petrol engine, driving a 30kW generator, supplying current at 500v to a pair of traction motors.  Two hundred locomotives of this type were built, half of them by Dick Kerr (the type modelled) and the rest by British Westinhouse.  In about 1927, parts from both types were used to build ‘Amos’ at the Clay Cross Company works, for use on the Ashover Light Railway.

Approximately 216mm long, 89mm wide, it has a height of 143mm.  Currently only available for 32mm track, it is fitted as standard with centre buffers 25mm above rails.

The model is all metal construction, with drive to both axles via bevel gears.  It has manual speed control which is operated by turning the air cleaner.

Power is provided by NiMH batteries with an onboard charging socket.
